dreaming of champagne in Paris

I've been dreaming of Paris lately, which inspired this little montage.

The dress (which I could never wear because I'd be afraid to sit down in it, but love) is by Alice & Olivia. The gold J. Crew heels remind me of a pair I love to borrow from my Mom (she's had them for more than 30 years). The triple coil earrings are from GirlProps.com. The champagne is Perrier-Jouet. And the Roost Golden Berry champagne flutes (which I LOVE and want sooooo bad) are available at Dreamy.

sketchbook peek: metallics & navy

Here's a peek at my sketchbook. Earlier this summer I was working through an obsession with all things navy and ultramarine blue--paired with distressed, vintage looking dull metallics. These colors and motifs are finding their way into the new collections we're working on for 2009!

trend: crackle metallic

Trend I'm loving: aged, crackled, and colored metallic, like these cool ballet flats from J.Crew.

"Soul of the Underground," by Jean Dubuffet, is an oil painting over aluminum foil. I stood in front of it for a looooong time. Hard to tell from this pic, but it's 3-dimensional and totally mesmerizing!
